Nam Cat Island, 12.21.14

21 Dec

This was by far, the kids favorite thing. After a nice night on the boat, we toured a pearl factory (boring) & then were ferried over to Nam Cat Island for a stay in a bungalow. Nam Cat is a private island (sounds way fancier than it is) but it was great fun.

After another excellent meal (I may become addicted to MSG), we grabbed a couple of kayaks & headed out.

Our first stop was a little beach across from the bungalows. The kids climbed the rocks & we found a bunch of shells. We’re going to need another tray for our rocks at home 😉

Crazy Kayakers

After kayaking, we explored the beach left by the low tide back at the bungalows. There is nothing better than God’ playground – aka, nature. The kids harassed crabs, collected shells, studied different crabs, held a funeral for a dead fish, & raced across the sand. It was so nice for them to have space to run & explore & be together if they wanted to but also have some time to themselves.

Our night on the island was relaxing. After supper, there was a bonfire on the beach. It was a perfect day. We all went to bed happy.
