The Gang’s All Here

29 Jun

We made it to Juneau Thursday night. It was 17hrs worth of travel to get here & so far, it’s well worth the effort. Today, while we waited for everyone else to arrive on the ferry, we did a quick tour of Juneau. It’s a pretty place with way more to do than we have time for.

The highlight of the day was the hugs we got from the boys. It was torture to see them on the ferry & not be able to get to them right away. They were the last vehicle off the ferry & the truck had barely rolled to a stop before the boys flung open their doors and rushed towards us.

Those were some great hugs.

The rest of our time in Juneau is largely unscheduled but the list of possibilities is long. We have a glacier to hike to, a fishing trip, a mountain to climb, mines to explore, bears to find, fish to eat. Having locals as tour guides means we’ll get to see ‘real’ Alaska – not just ‘cruise ship’ Alaska.

It’s a good thing there’s so much daylight to pack in as much as we can!
