Black Friday Madness

17 Nov

It’s a week before Thanksgiving & my inbox is filled up with reminders from Kohls & Target, etc reminding me to spend big in a week & a half.  Target will even let me make my own video to remind me to shop, shop, shop.  Just as helpful – in case you are struck by a bout in insomnia, their doors open at 3am & 4am, respectively.  If you have nothing better to do on Thanksgiving, you can go to Sears & Old Navy & get a jump start on your purchasing.

I say, For Shame!

Why not let your employees enjoy one last day off before the madness of the Christmas Buying Frenzy starts?  And for the love of pete, Kohl’s, your employees will barely have time to go to bed before they have to arrive for their shift!

Stay home on Thanksgiving.  Beat back the ol’ American Consumerism or ‘they’ will have won.

Or something like that.

Amen! I think it is horrible that stores are trying to attract consumers on Thanksgiving Day.
