How To Make A Good Impression

14 Feb

J~ & I are still working on making inroads at our new church.  We have a few people we identify with & would call them friends (sorry Julia, no bizarro-world at KofK).  Anyway, we attended a Valentine’s/Marriage Encounter Dinner over the weekend at church.  Part of the evening was a revisiting of our marriage vows.  The pastor read the Marriage Rite & gave a mini sermon, saying ‘marriage is made of many ‘threats.’

At least, that’s what I heard.  J~ told me what the pastor really said but I couldn’t keep it together.  I was fighting that snorting, crying-so-hard-from-laughing gut buster all through our vow renewal.

Unfortunately, we were surrounded in the front of church & couldn’t make an escape.  I’m sure the people around us thought we were horribly immature to not be able to handle a vow renewal.

It turns out, marriage is made of many ‘threads’.  Makes much more sense that way but it’s not nearly as funny.
